What did they say about Fokalogi?

I have always had a passion for teaching English. I have been doing it for a year before I joined Fokalogi, but Fokalogi stood out the most because it is the first platform that provides a safe space for people who wish to improve their English speaking skills. I love how they want to grow the interpersonal connection between the peer and the convo peer. My convo peer is absolutely amazing! and I always look forward to our sessions because, in that way, Fokalogi does not give you conventional tutoring but Fokalogi gives you a real friend that you can talk to :) Patal and Sarah are brilliant to have come up with this idea and I am proud to say that I am a part of Fokalogi!

The whole idea and concept of Fokalogi Speakify! is truly impressive, what they're offering is basically a non-judgemental, supportive environment for those who want to improve their English and the experience that I've got after being a part of this project is absolutely amazing, those who involve in the project are those who have the same mindset and purpose which is a very great foundation to have for the project.

Despite owning some experience in teaching language classes to foreigners and non-native speakers, the things that Fokalogi does and aims to do are nothing like anything I'm used to before. Instead of having traditional class sessions where students are being "taught" by teachers, Fokalogi's learning environment differs in that it is a more open-minded and flexible one, especially in how both speaker and learner are seen as equals. Fokalogi tries its best to make the process of learning to be safe and non-judgemental space for everyone involved!

I am delighted to be a part of Fokalogi Speakify!'s pilot batch! Have you ever felt like you understand when people talk to you, but you can't speak out what is in your head because you are afraid of your grammar error? I did. In the beginning, I was shy and afraid to speak with a linguist. But, I have to be fluent in English, so I decided to search for a platform where I can practice English dynamically. Fortunately, Fokalogi appears at the right time. Long story short, I have finished all of the sessions with my convo peer, Haifa. She never looks at me like I am a dumb girl even though she is an expert. We turn into best friends and family. We learn and share our stories, experiences, and sometimes we play games. I highly recommend this for everyone who wants to be confident in speaking English!

Personally, for me, it was challenging to talk in English. Though I love to speak in English, due to high expectations of people for us to speak like a native, giving me a big pressure on myself to speak, that was giving me more burden so I couldn't enjoy speaking in English. Also, I was really scared and uncomfortable whenever I noticed that I made mistakes or when my articulation wasn't clear enough. It was really scary to be in a judgmental environment.

But then Fokalogi exists! I'm so glad to be part of it, honestly. My Convo Peer always encourages me to just chill out and relax during the convo and she told me to take it easy. She's really attentive, and a good listener and the vibe was really enjoyable for me.

Fakologi is one of the best opportunities for me to develop my English speaking skill. I become more confident and enjoy my English. I learn a lot here and all of the convo peers and peers are fun. Truly appreciated all of the people behind Fakologi Indonesia（づ￣3￣）
